Richard Kemble:

Born in Erie Pennsylvania 1932-2007. Taught for almost twenty years at the state University of Buffalo and later as a professor at Pratt Institute in New York. Gave up academics after receiving one of the first printmaker's fellowships from the national endowment for the arts in 1974. He lived in Key West and Nantucket, exhibiting at the Main Street Gallery.
Born in Erie, Pennsylvania, Kemble moved to New Hope and took printmaking courses at Trenton state College. He later studied at the Pratt graphic center in Manhattan with Carol Summers and Clare Romano. In 1974 Kemble received a printmakers fellowship from the national endowment for the arts. Kemble opened an antique shop on nantucket in the 1980s with george kornthe forager house collection in an interview for public television early in the 1980s richard kemble stated: "i feel like an artist no matter what i am doing!" richard was a man of many talents showcasing his creativity. He won awards for floral arrangements in garden club competitions. His interior design projects were much sought after. He taught his students at pratt institute the art of garde manger. Everything in his life was executed with an artistic touch. When he entered one of his prints into a juried exhibition, art in new jersey, at the new jersey state museum in 1967, it was included in the 154 pieces selected from a field of over 800 applicants.
